In her presentation, Miya Yoshida will discuss the potentials, limitations and possibilities of practice based research, by producing a series of questions to gradually clarify what practice based research means. Practice based research were emerged and structured under contemporary circumstances. What function does it imply in society? What kind of mode of thinking and space can practice-based research open up? As a departing point in her presentation, Miya will introduce her doctoral research from Malmö Art Academy, Lund University, Sweden in 2006 as one example.
